/About/

Experience is teeming with rhymes. Some of those are visual.

I create a wide variety of paintings ranging from very personal pieces to more conceptual abstractions, most of them in oil and watercolor. My works represent a special sensibility resulting from the collision of some specific cognitive experience – some interplay of perception, memory, feeling and puzzle – and the very present tense and open ended physical exploration with paint and the potential that the medium brings to the process. Ambiguity is a key recurring character in my works, sometimes as a starting point, at other times as an attribute of the end result. I generally seek to contain complexity in the most frugal form it allows, and a set of my works tends towards minimalism, while the richness and complexity of experience remain more emphatic in others.

Originally, my professional background is in linguistics, mathematics and the social sciences. While I have been involved in several participatory art projects in the social realm driven by a theoretical interest, my individual pursuits in painting have been a separate track, for which I have used the name RhymeScape Studio so far. Though my processes and experience as a painter remain largely independent from the theoretical questions I tackle and the community art practices I lead, these naturally inform and ferment each other in the long term.

I have participated in exhibitions with collaborative projects as well as individual works, and my paintings can be found in private collections worldwide.
